For the Love of Learning

I chose teaching as a career because I love to learn. Each day I get to explore fascinating STEM topics from fresh perspectives, participate in the excitement of student discovery, then evaluate the results and orchestrate a new learning experience for the next day.

The T & E in STEM

Technology and Engineering are central components of STEM education, it is through them that the learning of Science and Math comes to life. Students who can use STEM to design innovative solutions to real-world challenges will change their world.

Computing

In particular, I believe all children should have the opportunity to acquire a sense of mastery over one of humankind’s most powerful technologies: the computer. Their work, their citizenry, and their lives will be dominated by it. Just as reading and writing were deemed to be essential compulsory education for all children in the late 1800s, computational literacy should be essential for all children in the 2000s.
